Mixing Neil Strauss' tenacious investigative journalism with the private investigator's procedural approach within a "real-time" structure made for a super effective, intriguing series. It was also pretty sobering to realize a well-funded podcast could out-perform a large police department. It took a bit for the podcast to find its footing and there were some structural issues, but it's nonetheless a bingeable delight.
The first season was great, but the second one not so much. There is so much misinformation, one sided commentary, shady investigative techniques...I'm not sure how they are not being sued yet! If you decide to listen to season two, you really should google Elaine Park and read the articles. I know after reading several I really questioned the integrity of this 'investigative team' and am disappointed in some of the producers for allowing it to be aired as it is. Please do not use this podcast as your sole source of information. It is deliberately misleading and the articles being published fill in the holes and answer questions that the podcast purposely leaves unanswered in order for the listener to feel a certain way about Elaine's mother. In short, dirty journalism from a shady, amature investigative podcast team!
This is a very well produced & well investigated podcast about the disappearance of Adea Shabani in California. The subject matter is tragic and I feel Neil Strauss handled the case sympathetically and professionally. I can't wait to hear what the team are able to uncover during Season Two.
I listened to the first episode and was instantly annoyed by the overdramatic music and faux excitement in the part of the host. Also, SO MANY COMMERCIAL BREAKS. I skipped ahead to the last episode. It was equally as annoying but at least I got to find out what happened without wasting too much of my life on this drivel.
RECOVER STOLEN CRYPTO ASSETS-SYNACK HACKERSThe last thing I expected to be able to do was recover a total of $ 57530 USDT lost in my account, but fortunately Synack Hackers, a special team of authorized hackers, came to my aid. I had to seek assistance from the team who were able to regain my account in a matter of 48 hours after it had been lost to an internet imposter who pretended to be a broker and had denied me access for more than a month. They provided amazing services and were a pleasure to work with. Should you require their assistance? Synack Hackers is reachable.Email address: synackhackers@proton.me
A gripping set of stories, fully delving into the tragedy of two missing young women. About as close as you can get to the 'a bunch of amateur sleuths try to solve a mystery' as you can get in real life, with the important point being that a professional detective was involved - real life mysteries are harder to investigate than fiction makes it look. Goes fully into the impact of loss on the families and loved ones of the missing - and the impact investigating can have on those doing it. Recommended.
I loved everything about this podcast. Hoping there will be more seasons.
Great podcast in real time
Best podcast I have listened to...
Crazy story!! So good.
This is another one of my favourite podcasts from a few years ago. I love the fact it was being recorded as it was playing out in real time. Even though the case seems to be what we think it is there are still twists and turns along the way that have you second guessing who did what. Highly recommended 💯. I really wish Neil would do another case.
Amazing! I loved this podcast. It started out as a 'who-dun-it' type mystery before becoming an almost live play-by-play investigative chase for the truth with twists and turns as the host and investigators obtained new information or witnesses reached out to them. Must listen.
