This show is very good. Season 1 broke my heart! I love Roger! So much is communicated in such short episodes. Love the added poetry too. Are the dogs okay, though????
A very touching and captivating story of a moon base and a troubled earth told through voice recordings of people trying to figure it all out. This series appeals to both my scifi nerd self, and my need for connecting with fellow humans. A must listen
Moonbase Theta, OutThank you so much. Seeking connection is definitely one of the huge themes!
It starts out as interesting and sweet and very quickly graduates to absolutely heart breaking! This is so far the only podcast I've cried over. No regrets! It slowly lays out a really interesting world with powerful corporations and their secrets. The characters are so lovable and well rounded and entertaining, even the mean ones! I almost didn't bother with MTO because the episodes are so short in season one but I swear it is worth the listen!
This show continually surprises and delights. The representation is on point and the drama will build in ways that you need but don't see coming.
Moonbase Theta, OutThank you so much! Your opinion means the world.
This show is quite a gem! Amazing how much information you get in every episode, and it shows, that great writing and acting can tear you up in a matter of minutes.
Love this show Rodger and crew are amazing and I can't wait for more!
This is hands-down one of my absolute favorite podcasts out there. The writing is incredible, the voice acting is amazing, and the structure of it makes it perfectly bingeable (multiple times). If I could date a podcast, this one would be mine!
There is so much story packed into each episode. Season 1 is one voice, telling the stories of the other people at the moonbase (and on Earth). Season 2 expands the cast and we hear more about their day-to-day lives. It's easy to fall in love with these characters!
First, let me say that as a late-comer to the series, I really appreciated the combined episodes! In any case, this show is fantastic! Season 1 really sets up an amazing world for the characters. We're familiarized with the moon bases and enclaves, and we start to get a handle on what the Consortium is. The characters that live in this world are amazing. Roger, our focal point, is voiced brilliantly. Wilder lives up to her name. Ashwini gives off total mad scientist vibes. Michell is a stereotypical uptight officer who takes his job too seriously... and so on. These only come out harder in season two, as the character development deepens. The writing is great! Something huge is going on here, and our characters are trying to figure it out. Roger, Ashwini, Wilder and the other characters all hint at similar conspiracies at different points, and I'm really looking forward to hearing more unfold in season 3.The voice acting and sound effects are among some of the best in audio dramas. Have you ever listened a show and wondered why an actor was cast in THAT role? You won't find that here, especially with Roger and Wilder. Every actor is on point, every episode.Overall, MT,O is worth the time to catch up on, and it's certainly something to look forward to, with a new season set to release soon.
A beautiful and heart wrenching show. It goes by so quick and leaves you wanting more. Thankfully season two is coming soon. But this show is art in audio form and really needs to be something everyone listens to.
I love MTO! The writing and performances pack in so much emotion and vulnerability, and in season 1 so much is conveyed in a short amount of time. I can't wait to see what happens next!
No other podcast has made me smile so much yet also broke my heart so much. The story-telling is amazing, creating such a vivid picture of the world. The cast of characters are beautifully diverse and developed. I cannot wait for more!
This show is beautiful and tragic and I love it! The writing and the acting is excellent. It hurts me, but that's cause it's so good!
Perhaps one of the most impactful, thoughtful, and well-written shows in Audio Drama, period. Moonbase Theta, Out's ongoing story is one of layer after layer of veil opening to reveal more and more of the complete picture of the show. Its first season was both beautiful and melancholic with gorgeous moments of acting and writing, and from there creator DJ Sylvis has continually opened up the show's universe to other amazing and powerful characters. It's one of my favorite shows, and well worth your time to catch up.
This is a ridiculously beautiful show. The first season was deceptively simple in concept - a series of brief reports from a collapsing moonbase. But it delivered a web of complex threads, stunning writing, and so much warmth. Season Two has been on my waiting list for a while now, and I really look forward to diving back in soon.
Moonbase Theta, Out is a great show that is worth the listen!Season one is a little slow but it does some great character and world-building and I prefer it over the second season. Season two is still a wonderful listen that introduces some really fun characters and recontextualizes the first season really well.
DJ is a monster and he knows it. I know that he knows it. He revels in breaking hearts and making you care deeply for characters you've never even met. I can't wait for season 2 when I finally get to meet the characters I'm so invested in!
S1 gave us the transmission reports of a lonely man, closing a moonbase in mysterious circumstances and looking forward to coming home. Now in S2, we get the perspectives of others, including those waiting at home. A compelling story told in bite-sized bits - the whole becoming richer and more fantastic as we put the puzzle together.
Listening to this podcast evolve from a lone voice in the dark to a multi-character series of entries was such a thrill. There is a great care in sculpting these characters into fully, actualized human beings, and as the show evolves, it provides a masterclass on how to keep a unified concept fresh with multiple voices. Bravo.
What seems like a typical science broadcast unravels and unwinds to become a beautiful audio drama with various angles and threads to engulf the listener. Also, A+ on the representation front.
