I so wanted this to be good, but it's really frustrating. The entire premise of the show is the main character is doing her PhD, but she literally never stops complaining about how she's not interested in boring stuff like research. Like how did she even finish undergrad? All she wants to do is go to spooky places she reads about on the internet which an awesome idea for a podcast but then don't make her a grad student because she sounds like a moron every time she complains about having to read something. The acting for everyone other than the main character is not good, maybe they get better as the series progresses, but it's very hard to suspend disbelief when everyone sounds like they're reading off a script. The main character actor is great, which kind of just shows how poor everyone else is. She is also unfortunately one of those female characters that is way too prolific in modern fiction, where they're written be rude and unpleasant and disregard expert advice, as a signifier that they're independent and strong-willed. It's awful and makes you wish the devil would just take this idiot straight to hell. There are so many good ideas in the podcast, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
